FAQs

Impawsible Pups is changing our current daycare model to one that is Enrichment-based.  This also means we are making some major changes to our reservation and pricing structure.  Please read below to find out more:

What is Enrichment Daycare?

Enrichment daycare is a new program that is designed to provide more structure in your dog’s day.  It changes the current “play all day” model to one that’s based on interaction and education.

Will my dog still go home tired?

Definitely!  Our goal is to provide both mental and physical stimulation for your pups so they come home happy, relaxed, and tired.  We are also working hard to provide quality play balanced with rest so your dog does not become over-stimulated and risk injury to itself or to others.

What kinds of activities will my dog do?

That’s really up to your dog.  We have a wide variety of activities to choose from, and we will find what your dog really enjoys and utilize those activities.  Activities could include fetch, massage, tricks, agility, tug, soccer, nature hikes, or more!

What will my dog’s schedule look like?

I have signed up for the enrichment daycare, but I’d like to permanently change my day.  Is that possible?

That will entirely depend on if there is availability on those days.  We will let clients know when spaces open up on certain days, and you are welcome to switch when those become available.

Something has changed in my life, and I would like to lower the number of days I bring my dog or to stop bringing my dog to daycare.

While we hate to see the dogs in our care leave, we definitely understand that life can bring lots of changes.  In this case, just give us two weeks’ notice, and we will modify your account at the end of the two weeks.  Please understand, however, that space in the daycare program is extremely limited.  Cancelling your days may mean a lengthy waiting period to get back in.

How far in advance can I book a flex day?

To avoid cancellations and no shows, we are limiting how far in advance flex days could be reserved. Flex days can be booked up to 48 hours in advance.

Can I book half days?

While we do not offer half day recurring reservations, we do offer half flex days.  Half days are $23 and are for dogs staying less than 4 hours in our facility.

Which days can I make a recurring reservation?

We are currently booked full for all recurring reservations.  Current clients may ask to be added to our wait list for specific days.

Can I put my subscription on hold?

Yes!  You can place your subscription on hold for 1 week per year for vacations, etc.  Just give us notice IN WRITING (email is fine) at least two weeks prior to your hold.

Will boarding dogs participate in Enrichment Daycare?

Yes!  All dogs in our care will participate in our Enrichment program.  In addition to daycare let outs, boarding dogs will also have an early morning and a late night let out.

What happens during inclement weather?

We want to have the dogs outside as much as possible, but some days are just too gross to be outside for hours at a time.  On those days, play will move primarily indoors with quick breaks outside for personal relief.

What vaccines are required?

For dogs: Rabies (after 16 weeks), Distemper, and Bordatella.

For cats: Rabies and FIV

How are dogs introduced to the new group?

Each dog goes through a multi-step testing process.  The first step is simple observation.  How is your dog feeling?  Are they nervous around the staff?  Are they happy?  Are they full of energy?  Next, we test the dog with a single, well-established dog.  At this point we are watching to see how well your dog reacts as well as how the known dog reacts.  If all goes well there, we will then introduce your dog to the larger group through a barrier.  Sometimes this large group can be overwhelming, so we want to make sure all reactions are good an happy.  Lastly, we introduce your dog into the yard on leash.  This allows us a little extra control and guidance, but if all goes well here then your dog will quickly be allowed off leash to play.

Note: In some cases it takes more than one visit to truly establish a dog’s temperament.  Do not be alarmed if the staff advises you to retest.  Some dogs just need a little more time to adjust!
